About Us

Margaret and JD live together in Murroe, Ireland. We love eating, drinking and cooking.

JD makes bread and sauces, and is slightly hugely obsessed with knives. He likes Asian food.

Margaret bakes like a demon and loves classic european recipes. She is slightly obsessed with mixing bowls, especially small ones.

The reasons we cook are simple. We can’t afford to eat out every night. Reading packets can be scary, especially when you can’t pronounce half the ingredients. It’s therapeutic. It’s healthier (though neither of us could be called health nuts). And it’s cheaper.

We have, in the past, been accused of only having ingredients in the house, and not food.

    Nice blog. Any tips on buying Kitchen Knives, I keep meaning to do some research but if you have anything from an Irish perspective I’d love to hear.
